Mounting bracket generator

Describe the two legs, the thickness and the holes. The generator builds the bracket in your browser, with fillets where the legs meet, and exports STL or STEP.

Builds in your browser. The CAD engine downloads once (about 60 MB), then every part is local.

What to put in the prompt

  • Give both leg lengths, the width and the thickness. 3 to 5mm is a sensible printed thickness.
  • List the holes: how many per leg, the diameter, and roughly where. Two 5mm holes 30mm apart.
  • Name the standard if there is one: NEMA 17, 2020 extrusion, DIN rail.
  • Ask for a gusset or a fillet if the bracket carries load.
  • Say slot instead of hole when you need adjustment: a 5mm x 15mm slot.

Frequently asked questions

What kinds of brackets work?

L-brackets, shelf brackets, motor mounts, sensor mounts, camera mounts, extrusion brackets and flat plates with hole patterns all work well because they are a few boxes and holes.

Can I set hole positions exactly?

Yes. Give centre-to-centre distances and offsets from an edge, and the generator places them. Sliders let you adjust afterwards.

How strong is a printed bracket?

Strength depends on the material and orientation. For load-bearing brackets use 4mm or more, add a gusset, and print so the layers do not run through the bend. See the designing brackets guide.
